Is it normal for your teeth to hurt after braces?

Just got braces about a week ago and whenever I go to bite into something it feels tender. kind of hurts, so I've been avoiding even semi soft stuff.. and sticking to soup,pudding, Apple sauce etc.. just wondering if it's the norm.. how long does it last? The whole time you have them on?

    Totally fine, it'll get easier and soon you'll barely notice you have braces.

    Did your dentist / orthodontist not tell you that teeth and gums can feel tender or even painful?

    That's like basic information any decent orthodontist should share with you before and after your brace is fitted.

    It;s completely normal. It might last a few weeks, which sucks. But you'll get used to it.
