Is it normal for your mom to call you old at 28?

My Mother is 59 and she called me old. IIN?

Am I really old? I didn't think I was..heck I'm still in school studying for PhD so people refer to me as student and I'm the 2nd youngest in the group of people I meet with. :/ Am I really old? I hope not as I haven't been able to live yet as I've worked hard and not had a vacation in 10 years. :/

is it normal she called me old at 28? To be fair, people think I'm 19 and I'm constantly IDed. I have no wrinkles or grey hair and my face apparently looks younger. Had people tell me I had a fake ID before as well and didn't let me get beer because they thought I put a "stupid birth year". But even my friends who look older than their ages look young to me.

Anyway, is it normal she said this?

She sounds like a frustrated grand mother. Well, you know what? She's got her life and you've got yours, and girl, live yours however you damn well please and fuck her. You owe her no excuses or apologies.

I feel your pain. I'm 24 and my dental hygienist jokingly called me "old".

I think she wants grand kids. She's telling you that you're too old to not have children. She's getting impatient.

Age is a state of mind, if you feel young then be as young as you feel and props to you for pursuing a PhD. Wish you all the best.

She most likely said it because she's jealous that you have what she no longer has: youth. There's no need to let that bitter comment get to you, Op. You're not old yet.
    :)

    She's 59. I wouldn't take it personally, if I were you.
