Is it normal for your gf to rush engagement

This sounds like trouble to me already. You've told her your reasons for not asking her yet, which isn't because you don't care about her enough, but because the timing isn't right - you want to finish school and you want to be able to afford a ring for her.

Even though you've given her legitimate reasons, she still argues with you about it. That's not a good sign. It sounds like she only cares about getting what she wants and doesn't care what you want and doesn't listen to reason.

She probably just has issues with abandonment. She wants you to marry her so she knows you won't leave her. I know plenty of chicks like that. Just sit her down, and tell her you love her and you aren't going anywhere.

I think it is very important to finish school because it shows you care about your future. Propose when your ready but dont wait around too long. Remember, that if this is the girl of your dreams not only are you choosing her, but she is choosing you also. Because you don't want to loose each other, talk to one another and do what you feel is best.

Not to scare you or anything, but a reason for this might be that she's made a huge mistake and wants to marry you so that when she lets it out, you can't leave her. Not likely!! lol but a possibility. But honestly, if she can't calm down and stop pushing you tell her to back off :/ Just like how guys shouldn't push girls for sex, girls shouldn't push guys to do things they're not ready to do.

Try a different tactic.. Plan/pay for a holiday that is far in the future, get her a promise ring, consider moving in together, have a long engagement, get a shared pet, set a date such as within the next few years, but say you want it to be a surprise.

She seems to be afraid that you are not committed so take steps to show her that.

Ha I kinda used to be that girl..I didn't understand why my bf didn't propose to me...but then I found out he was still married to someone else. Anyways, you need to be straight with her and tell her your plans. Also, since she keeps on bugging, say "don't you want it to be a surprise?" For me, I'd rather it be a surprise than keep begging for it ya know? Anyways, just let her know that she is the one you want to spend your life with, she just needs to be patient...if that is in deed the case.
