Is it normal for your friends to pick their scabs until they bleed??

My friend has this unhealthy habit of picking her scabs (even bug bites)!! what should she do,?? i think its disgusting, there are bruises all over her legs, it makes me sick. (she is kinda a not vry close friend, not rly a friend,used to be friend.)and she does it until they bleed, and she also bites the skin around her nails, i dont think this is normal, but is it?

    it so she can let the bits of demon soul that are stuck in her out. its perfectly normal as long as shes a satanist. and i have a hunch she is.

    Firstly, it's normal but not to excess. It may be when there is nothing else to do so keep occupied.
    There is also the problem of your friend's skin and complexion. Tell her she may be scarred for life. I do not know how old she is but if she wishes to drop the compulsion, get her to cover the scabs with small plasters and to cut her nails short so that she cannot scratch. Dab iodine when they bleed. The pain will soon stop her.
    Remember, support her when she tries to stop and don't embarrass her.

    It's a compulsive type issue for this person. Like being an alcoholic, it's a sickness as well as a habit. It isn't normal and it is gross but I have the same problem. I have a serious issue with the texture of my skin. If it does not feel smooth and there are bumps I will scratch them off till I bleed. I even do it subconsciously while I drive or when watching tv. I can't stop.
