Is it normal for your feet to make cracking sounds while walking?

Ok, when I walk my feet normally crack but about a week ago I was standing in one spot and as I was about to start walking I guess I put all of my weight on 1 foot to fast and I heard a loud CRACK. It hurts a little, especially when I walk but the pain is bearable. The pain is on the outer side of my left foot between the ankle and the toes. Could it be a sprain or is it possible that I broke or tore something. My brother had a similar injury playing basketball but his pain was much worst and the doctor said that he broke a small bone on the side of his foot.

There are points in my frets that *click* and *crack*. They have been doing this for years and it occurs at random, with some periods lasting for many days. It could be lack of vitamins and calcium. While I don't remember to take my vitamins everyday, I have a been eating a lot of cheese as of late. I don't recall my feet popping recently. It might also be some muscular/skeletal related. I think to play on the safe side, that you should see a doctor. Good luck.

  • Vitamin d deficiency is the most likely thing, it's very common.

Definitely have that checked out by a doctor. The fact that there is lingering pain suggests you injured it in some way.
