I was 14 or 15 before I realised it wasn't normal. There was a very difficult conversation with my group of friends where, first I thought they were yanking my chain about not being hit, and then the slow realisation amongst the whole group that I was in a kind of trouble that they didn't know how to help with.

If you haven't heard it from your friends yet, it's not normal. I don't know what to advise you because yeah, I'm here to tell the tale. But it's coloured my entire life.

Abuse is abuse at any age whether you are a boy or a girl. It is WRONG! Is there a "safe" adult that you can go to and tell what is happening? I encourage you to do so as soon as possible. I am a girl, and the youngest in my family. And I would get help. It only gets worse if you don't. My dad was abusive too. Untill me and my sisters started fighting back. We were affraid to tell anyone, because he was our father we didnt want him in trouble. But we also didnt want to get smacked around because he was in a pissy mood. Get Help. Don't let him treat you that way.

Doooont listen to that what some people say. Its bullshit. Your father is abusing you. As long as you can't see anything its hard to prove that he really does it, so do not go to the police on your own. Firstable go to an adult you trust. Either your mom or a teacher or you might wanna call a hotline for child abuse. You can get help don't do it on your own. And it's important that you have an adult and not a friend (your age) because than your father stands over you and the police will believe your father more than 2 young girls , if you don't have marks. Wtf everyone who said its normal probably hit their children too and should be in prison right now. Hitting someone is illegal, unless it is to defend yourself as long as you dont use a force greater than the one used against you. Hitting your own child is even worse. You should call the police.

NO,this is not normal, i know from experience, my mom used to beat me with whatever was handy. she put me in the emergency room 3 times before social services put me with my grandmother. find a safe adult to tell, he can only hurt you as long as nobody knows, i nearly killed myself because i thought nobody could help me.

Oh my god! You will survive, stop whining!!! I got hit when I was a kid and I don't hate or even dislike my parents for it. I deserved it!! I put me in line. I went from being out of control to being a responsible adult. I still love my parents and would do ANYTHING for them.
