Is it normal for your boss to hate you and make things miserable?

I used to work with this guy as an equal and than he got promoted...you can probably see where this is going. I started acquiring all his customers and building a better reputation than him. Than I noticed I would be put on 2 person tasks by myself, given no tools and liTtle material to do the job and when something went wrong, I got blamed for it all. I even went so far to try and get along with him that I bought him a drink and he refused! I kept on with this job until it started affecting my health, I quit on the spot after working for this place for over 2 years. I don't understand why he would be like this; I'm a member of a visible minority, more educated and have never been to jail (he has). He has been with the company for much longer than I was, he can do the job and he got promoted...he should be happy! Is this bahavior normal & what's up with this?

You make him burn with jealousy. You should'nt have quit your job, that's made him happy. Speak to the main man next time, this so called guy doesnt own the company that you force yourself to leave. Hope you found yourself another better job.

He'd like to think that he is better than you. But if he thinks that then its because you are a serious threat to him in some ways...and it doesn't matter if you have done anything. He just wants to push you down so he feels he is higher. Not a very mature person.

You do what you can to do a good job but if you think he is detrimental to you enjoying work 2 things you might want to think about:

    1. leave and move somewhere else better
    2. know how much the company needs you and discuss this with a senior manager. u need to tread this more carefully as u don't want HIM to find out that you ve skipped over him. U need a pretty good success rate.
