Is it normal for young children to feel sexual attraction?

When I was a very young kid, as early as 4 from what I remember, I would have sexual feelings for girls. My parents thought I was gay as a child because I was always into barbies and dolls but really I just liked to play or be around girls. When I was 4 I remember having crushes on my babysitters. I would ask them to kiss me and cuddle me. I didn’t know how sex worked or anything like that but I knew that humping things while thinking about girls felt good. When I was also 4, my parents walked in on me humping a doll. I don’t know how or where I would’ve learned this behavior. My parents were by the book and strict. I wasn’t allowed on the internet unsupervised until I was 13. I was always attracted to moms and babysitters too when I was growing up which seems weird. I also had a crazy obsession with Brittany Spears which also played into the gay suspicion my parents had. But I was polar opposite. I was adopted from birth so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it but to this day I feel like that isn’t normal behavior for kids that young.

    Probably not that common but it’s not anything bad or wrong. I had sexual feelings from about the age of 8 and would fantasise about BDSM type stuff.

      Interesting...Same here. Not overly normal, but is the way sadists and masochists develop. Like a draw to it without having exposure to it, like it was always hardwired.

    Well I had my first crush when I was around five years old. Still remember him. Also had another crush at six years old in preschool whom I forced my teachers to help me write love letters to. Good times.

    People vary, and all human sexuality is about points on at least two spectra. One spectrum has male at one end and female at the other, and the point we are on that range determines whether we're sexually attracted to men or women. The second spectrum has low arousal at one end and high arousal at the other, or terms to that effect. The point we are on that spectrum is a reflection of how interested we are in sex and how easily we are sexually aroused.

    The facts of evolution mean that any organism that doesn't have an innate instinct to procreate is doomed to rapid extinction. Humans are animals, and the only reason we're all here today is because countless generations of our ancestors - human and prehuman - were born with an interest in sex.

    The current moral and legal climate is such that everyone very much wants to believe that small children simply cannot be interested in sex, and this is something that mysteriously appears only at puberty. And while it is true that small children who are raised in a normal, modern Western family where all sexual activity is concealed from them won't have the faintest idea of what sex is about or why they're feeling what they're feeling, it's normal for small children to masturbate. It's probably more common with boys, since their sexual equipment is obvious and sticking out in front of them and conveniently positioned at hand level, but very young girls also hump their toys or pillows too. In either case, it's not about sex in the sense that adults understand it, but simply about doing something that feel nice.

    If you accept that some people are born gay and some people are born straight, then it seems to me logical for it also to be the case that some people are born with a sexual arousal switch that's much more sensitive than whatever the norm is.

    It might be interesting for you to investigate the circumstances of your birth some day and find out more about your birth mother. Since you seem to have been born very strongly heterosexual and with that sensitive arousal switch, it could be that you'll discover that the same applies to her.

    Oh, and I don't understand why the hell your parents would have thought that a young boy being obsessed with Brittany Spears was an indication that you were gay. If they truly did believe this, then that says a lot about their attitudes towards sexuality, and none of it is good. Spears was adopted as a gay icon at some point, but I know for a fact that a lot of straight-dad-types found her very hot - and alluringly trashy - in her Baby One More Time phase.

      In their defense, they never thought me being gay was a negative thing by any means. They just figured since I didn’t follow gender norms that I might be gay which was a pretty common attitude for the mid 90s.

    I was in the 7th grade and I got together with my girlfriend. I lied to my parents about going to my friend's house. I "made out' with my girlfriend but could not go "all the way" because she did not want to. She was afraid of getting pregnant, and fortunately for me she made the wise decision. My hormones would not have allowed me to think correctly.

    sometimes i still get off as if i was a kid. seems easier when watching porn. its like when i watch porn i try to think as if i was younger. its kind of a age regression kink i have. but it gets me off better because i know ill never have sex with any of the girls on screen. so sometimes when im wanking ill think about the girls as if they were a stepmom or babysitter. its hot but it makes me feel guilty and i've been thinking about stopping watching porn all together becuase if i keep watching porn, ill never have the confidence to actually go out and talk to real women becuase i barely ever do

    i didnt have a crush till i was 8 and i didnt have my first orgasm till i was 11. i didnt actually have sexual contact till i was 20. id say its normal though. some have sexual feelingss earlier than others.
