Is it normal for wavy hair to constantly tangle?

Half of my friends have wavy hair, and when they run their fingers through it it rarely tangles. Whenever I run my fingers through my hair however, it always tangles as soon as I try and move my fingers through it. I give my hair the care it needs. I shampoo once every 2 days with conditioning, but it always tangles with the slightest movement with my hair between my fingers. It just doesn't seem normal to me because it's ridiculously unmanagable.
