Is it normal for types to change based on .........

music taste ??

I’m 30, f. I've always loved music, & when I was younger I’d ask what music you liked soon after meeting you. I get on better w/ those who share similar tastes b/c mine have always been, shall we say, unusual (nothing bad/illegal).

I love men but can't deny I’ve got some low-level attraction to women. My type seems to coincide with what I'm listening to. Say I've been on a metal kick for a couple of months I'd want an emo (wo)man – I was very close to one for a while but broke off contact b/c she became obsessed w/ me.

I've always loved folk (the livelier sort w/ nasty songs full of blood) & like men who look like wizards or homely women w/ white hair who say things like “come along, off we jolly well go” & if they talk medieval......

“I prithee” = “you should”
“thou hast” = “you have”

....... I melt like a Cornetto on a hot day.

I am quite homely myself & have been known to talk that way when joking.

If Miss Treason from Terry Pratchett's Discworld were a real person I would probably want her –( yes I know she's supposed to be 113 y/o but hopefully she wouldn't look her age). I'm quite open about my type (when/if the subject is brought up, not otherwise) & find it funny. Is my taste normal ??

Said emo woman was like this too (I mean changing taste wise, not talking that way, & she wasn't 113 y/o either) but she couldn't distinguish between liking someone as a friend & wanting a relationship w/ them; she lusted after everyone; she was possessive w/ them; & as close as we used to be (before I realised what she was actually like) she is somebody I never want to emulate.
