Is it normal for this to annoy me?

My boyfriend is always following me around like a lost puppy or something and tries to buy me things everywhere we go, even though I keep telling him that I don't need anything. If I even try to walk 3 feet in the opposite direction he'll follow me because he's always holding my hand (it's like being handcuffed to someone). I know it doesn't sound bad, and it probably comes from a good place, but it can get annoying. I think that there are a time and place for these kinds of behaviors, and too much of anything, even a good thing, can be bad. is it normal that I find these mannerisms super annoying sometimes?

    There's nothing wrong with you, or your boyfriend. You're just not right for each other.

    You remind me of a girl who dumped me when I was young and dating. I really thought I loved her, and I thought she loved me, but she dumped me because I made her feel "like a bird in a cage".

    I enjoy holding hands and being close to and doing things with and for the woman I love. After being married for decades we still hold hands going to and from the car, the store, the restaurant, etc. I still open car doors for her. She's special to me and I like to show her that, and she thrives on the special attention. When we're sleeping together our legs or feet are often intertwined because we both like being that close, feeling the closeness.

    If you and your BF aren't on the same page with these feelings then you should go your separate ways so you can each find somebody who feels the way you do.
