Is it normal for the sound of people chewing to be annoying?

Whenever I hear the sound of someone chewing it is extremely annoying. Like when I'm watching tv and someone just brings a bag of potatoe chips and starts munching away. Does it annoy anyone else?

    I HATE the sound of people chewing, and not just the noise it makes when they eat crisps or a carrot..I hate the sound when people even chew with their mouths closed, and you can hear the sound of the meat getting chewed inside their mouths, that is the WORST for me. I get so annoyed my body temperature actually rises, it feels like I can knock that persons teeth out. The worst is when someone eats a banana!

    Lord have mercy! I can't stand it, and it gets worse when they chew with their mouths open, swallow hard and talk with food in their mouths!! I can't stand it!

    I will get up and walk out of a movie if someone near me is eating like a hog! Ugh! I hate eating noises.
