The only time a teenager should have a bed time is if they have to wake up the next day to do something or go somewhere. But mostly during the summer, we teenagers sit around and do nothing until a certain time of the day, so a bedtime is useless. I don't even have one during the school year, I go to bed whenever I want.

if there is nothing important to do the next day, why should there be "Bed time"? teenagers that age are responsible enough (Or at least i am) to decide that on their own.

I agree with stinky1 lol, but i dont think its necessary for a teen to have a bedtime at all. unless they are texting all night or on the computer all night, but during the summer definitely not.

Teens will stay up until 2-3 am bedtime or not
That's pretty wired having a bedtime during summer
But it does depend on what time they want you to go to bed if it's 1am then that's not bad

I don't see the point since its not like they are going anymore. So whats the point of sleeping early if its not for school. A curfew however makes sense since you want to know where your kids are and not have them gone till like 1 in the morning.

Well, actually, I did hear somewhere that it is important for teens to get a certain amount of sleep.

I never really had a bed time. I go to bed when im tires or if I have work or school I know what time to be in bed by. I havent even had a curfew since I was 16.

  • My parents didn't give me a bed time but I earned it because I didn't stay up incredably late either I'm not much of a night owl.

When I was 13, I had a midnight summer bedtime. It was bullshit. I was never tired, and I always got punished if I stayed up later than I was supposed to. The next year I had no bedtime..

Depends upon when you were brought up by parents and what their rules are/were at the time. As a teen-ager 15 to 17, I did have a specific time to be in by. 11-12 o'clock on the weekends: 10 o'clock on the weekdays. But then, when I was 15, it was 1966: Different times, ...different values held by parents.

  • If you mean a summer bedtime because of your parents... than that's wierd
BUT iM 17 and i usually sleep around 10-2 am depends if im working

Keeping them busy with summer activities will keep they're sleeping patterns more normal. I would say though that even if they have a summer job or something it should be their responsibility to make sure they get enough sleep and actually wake up and go to work.

    That's perfectly acceptable.

If you're living at home then your parents get to decide your bed time. If you don't like it... too freakin' bad.
