Is it normal for tattoo to have so many pimples?

I got my tattoo about 5 months ago and it has been getting a lot of little pimples on and around it. They are on my arm and it itches and bugs. I got it at my friends house and I made sure all the tools were clean. I did get a fever once a week after getting it but that was it. Pimples have been on and off, but now it just got a lot of these and now it makes me wonder if it could be an infection. Well is it normal for this to happen? If it is an infection what could I do if I don't have access to a doctor?

    Ok, well you haven't given us enough info here. What did you do for your aftercare procedure? What product did you use? What color ink? Have you had tattoos before with the same color ink? Have you had a tattoo before?

    The pimples are probably either an allergic reaction to the ink or they're caused by whatever aftercare products you've been using if you haven't been washing the tattoo well. Wash it everytime you reapply the ointment.

    However the fact that you had a fever a week after is rather disconcerting. Is your friend trained? Or is he just tattooing out of his house with shit he bought on the internet?

    If he isn't formally trained to do tattoos I would strongly reccomend going and talking to a professional and making sure nothing else is wrong. Also, ONLY get tattooed by people who are liscenced and well trained. You're sticking foreign substances into your body, you don't want someone who may not know exactly what they're doing.
