Is it normal for stupid people to think they're smart

I use yahoo answers and it's always the stupid people who can't even spell posting smart ass comments and saying things like "your dumb" when they can't even spell "you're"
Like yesterday, I asked a riddle ( a trick + maths probability question) and out of the people who answered, there were 2 such people. The first one said the question can't be solved and I'm an idiot. The other one said he had heard of this riddle since long ago and knows the answer. When I replied that this riddle was thought up by me, I teach maths and he can give the answer if he knows it, he still insisted that I did not make it up and refused to answer it. Oh of course, because he CAN'T.

When I revealed the answer and explained it in a VERY detailed manner, others got it but the first idiot still doesn't understand and insisted that the riddle can't be solved and I'm cheating people.
Gosh, how I wish I could knock him out with a bat!
I was looking forward to an interesting discussion and intelligent guesses but some idiot always have to come along, accuse me of something or post a crappy comment to boost their ego and ruin my mood!!
is it normal for me to get agitated by them and does anyone have such experiences?

    Stupid people will always think they're smart, smart people will always think they're dumb. It's normal. However, should you get agitated because people are being arrogant? No, there's too many dumb people out there and they aren't worth your anger.

    "Maths" is english. "Math" is american english

      Yeah, but "smart" is American-English. It means well-dressed in International-English. Are you trying to have your cake and eat it too, sir? I think you have to choose a side.

      Anyway, what was the riddle? It sounds interesting.

      Also, if the person who says its not solvable can disprove your proof, fair enough. Until he does, though, no dice.

        Smart is used reasonably often to mean intelligent in international english, it's not an Americanism.

    I don't think anyones really that smart or dumb. I have a 118-120 IQ and i do stupid things ALL THE TIME. I was supposed to be a lawyer, instead i went to jail for a few months. Almost ironic....

    That should be "has" to come along - or "idiots have " = plural . Just thought I'd mention it seems your talking grammar , Jesus I hate f'n grammar people.
    But eh , serves you right for trying to have an intelligent conversation with a bunch of morons on some yahoo rubbish. But , your right , you can pick those fools at 100 paces and both eyes shut. My guess is they're basically useless people that aren't good at anything and the net is finally their 15min's of fame.
