Is it normal for street lights to go out

Is it normal that whenever I am out alone in my car late at night, between 11pm and 4am that street lights cut out when I am under them without so much as a flicker and turn back on immediately after I pass under them. This happens all the time forme

hhhhhhhhh i bet i know whats happening here. they prolly flicker continuously but you only direct your attention to them at a close distance. after you pass them you disregard them as not flickering anymore.

Fine, don't believe us. This happens every time I'm outside walking at night though, which is a few times a week, and it happens to every few lights I walk under. I'd say one out of every five or six. So I'm not overexagerating.

Didn't this happen in an X-File or in a film or something? If it's genuinely happening to you, film it. Make some money out of this rare umm... skill. And, if you don't do that, it's obviously kind of not happening, is it?

P.S. I was once just a few feet from a lamp post when it got struck by lightning. One of the best things I've ever seen. But I kind of don't overplay my role in that. It'd have happened whether I was there or not.

Your streetlights likely have light sensors that trigger their timing. When there's sufficient sun, they turn off; when there's sufficient darkness, they come on. Your headlights (high beams, I presume) are more likely the culprit.

But, if you want to continue your frame of reference (or as some assholes call it, "magickal thinking") I think a better question than "am I some sort of psychic, telekinetic ghost whisperer" is the question of "what was I just thinking about when I was illuminated/darkened?"

Happens to me too. Heard that when the street light goes out when you're under it that it's your angel or spirit watching over you .. It's kind of comforting to think of it in this aspect rather than just a random glitch in the electrical system..

I think its normal. I've seen it happen with myself and thought I was just dillusional and then it happened to my fiance as well. Some people do have negative energy that can drain positive energy around them, such as lights. As for the people giving you crap... well they must have no life to be on this site just to do so cause I have no life and even I'm not that bored.

This happens to me every time I am out at night. At least one light (out of the 10 on the street) will go out because they are on timers. My friends and I call these the "rape me" lights.

I've heard theories about people who drain batteries and light bulbs. It's said it can be a sign of multiple personalities (which is funny because you did say "fine, don't believe us"). Or people who have ghosts or spirits around them that drain energy.

look into it. like was mentioned above Google is a wonderful tool

I've seen a documentary on the "Discovery Channel" about this. It's apparently real. I watched it a while ago. I think they called these kind of people the "electric man". Try google it.

Omg the same thing happens to me all the time. At night I'll be going for a walk or something and the second I walk under a light it turns off. It always scares me.
