Is it normal for someone to never date someone of their own race?

My Fiancee and I have been together for almost six years. He is 32 and I am 24. When we first started dating, I learned that he had dated black women only (we are white). I am not AT ALL racist, but I can't seem to understand why black women was his ONLY interest. I have asked him why he all of a sudden chose to give me a try, and he refuses to answer!!?? I'm just a little confused I guess!!?? Any advice would be GREAT!!

    Maybe he was only attracted to black girls until you came alongg.

    If you're not racist whey do you care what races he dated before you?

    Did it ever occur to you that maybe he was picking his girlfriends because of how they acted instead of their skin color.

    And now that you're nagging him about it, he's seeing you for someone who really DOES care about skin color.

    Idk, guys are weird. My ex was 6 years older than me. He had never dated anyone his age or younger, til me. Still, he only dates older. Makes no sense, so don't try too hard to figure it out.

    Dating outside your race is a big deal, especially if you're in a racist environment like the US. If I was the marrying type I wouldn't marry someone of a different race though I'd date them, you have to be confortable in a marriage and the more similar your partner is to you, the easier it is to be comfortable.

    I tend to only go for black men but I have been interested in a few white, it's just personal preference. I went out with one white guy who hated the fact I would date black guys, he hated it so much it ended up splitting us up (pathetic I know) but it's just how I am.
    It's nothing to be self conscious about- he's with you now, if you let it get to you it will ruin the relationship

    Who cares? Maybe he just realized he would like to settle down with someone more culturally similar to him. Just be glad.

      As I stated before..."I don't care either" but it was just a question. I've never heard of someone who doesn't date their own race AT ALL...
