Is it normal for someone to do this?

Just wondering if its normal for this to happen.
I met and girl at a party and we exchanged numbers and later that night ended up hooking up. After 6-8 weeks of texting every day for hours on end, visiting each other at work and hanging out when we could she invited me over to her house and later that afternoon I eventually met her parents and her mother invited me to stay for dinner and I had dinner with her and her parents. After dinner I told her that I wanted to start dating properly and she said as long as I take her on a romantic date. We tried to organise a date but it was difficult due to my university exams and she was in her last week of high school. (by the way we are both 18) Anyway we were still texting just as much until her last day of classes at school when for some unknown reason we stopped talking. I decided o give it a while as she had very important exams, I messaged maybe once a week during that month but never got a reply to any text and eventually found out that two weeks after we stopped talking she started dating another guy.
Is it normal for someone to do that to someone that they really cared about?

            • That's very true and I do agree but call me stupid but it's hard to blame someone when she was probably the perfect girl for me considering we had so much in common and liked practically everything about each other

People are fucked. She found someone else during that month and didn't have the guts to tell you? Piss weak. I agree with top commenter, shit in her tea.

Oooh, harsh.. but roughing anyone up won't change anything. Chances are she didn't even tell him she was talking to someone else so he is more than likely an innocent party in this. She's the one that hurt you and decided to go off with some other guy. The fact that she couldn't even tell you is disrespectful. She just left you hanging with hope. There's nothing worse than that. Why would you want her back in your life after she did that? Someone like that is not worth associating with, unfortunately.

    • You raise a very valid point I think the only reason I still want her in my life is the fact that we both liked practically everything about each other and she was with me through a tough phase of my life but you raise a valid point

Maybe she'll realize she made a mistake and run back to you. Could you ever trust her enough to want to be with her again?

        • I can be very forgiving but even if she does come back to me it will take me a long time to trust her again, a very long time

    You can just move on.

Make her jealous by making out with some new random chick everyday. Be a player! Enjoy life.

Also, seriously contemplate shitting in her tea. She deserves it.

Alternatively, if you are extremely evil and have completely lost your moral compass and are driven with a passion to have revenge in ANY way possible, add pepper to her tampons. Watch her and give a devil smile when she cries.

Just think about it this way she's the one missing out not you. This happens a lot unfortunately but you have to move on.
