Is it normal for some black people to look like chimps and gorillas?

I have always wondered why blacks look like chimpanzees and gorillas. I am sure they are completely human, but maybe they evolved in a parallel way to other apes in the African Continent, while the other Homo sapiens emigrated to other climate and geographical areas that needed other adaptations. Other places I´ve read mention that the genetic difference between most whites and blacks is greater than that between most whites and chimps for example. So, this raises other questions, such as: Are there different subspecies of humans? Could we interbreed with chimps and gorillas? Well, for at least it is not normal for blacks to look more chimp like than the general population of humans. What is your opinion? what are the facts? I am having trouble getting the solid scientific facts on this matter. Thanks.

    A single genetic mutation caused pale skin. Paler skin requires less sunlight to create vitamin D, so paler skinned people can live more easily in less sunny places.

    A single genetic mutation amongst the sequence of DNA is the smallest possible change, meaning that white people and black people are genetically virtually identical (even if we don't look like twins).

    Other primates might be 98% identical to us but that still amounts to a huge amount of difference because of the size of our genomes. To put that into context, an onion has 60% of the same DNA you have. It has more in common than not.

    Humans (of any colour) cannot breed with other primates. We can't breed with onions, either.

      yes, they had a chimpanzee/human breeding programme after WW2.

      aside from that, i loved your response! the onion part made me laugh out loud. And i'm at work...

        I'd forgotten all about that. I saw a documentary about it ages ago. The guy who ran the programme was really well-respected because he'd pioneered artificial insemination for cows or horses or something.

    Humans are not genetically diverse enough to have subspecies. We're all humans nothing more nothing less. We are also too different to breed with chimps.
