Is it normal for shop staff to react in this way

hi, we had a hot summer last year and i was wearing a teabag t-shirt with no bra because i don't wear bras, (teabag,same as string vest)and i was with my boyfriend shopping is a large store when security asked me to follow them to the staff office, they asked me to cover my nipples up or leave the store, i just left in disgust, i can't believe that in 2011 bare nipples are some sort of problem, people need to chill out more.

    Yes it's normal.
    But only because a lot of people are drama queens...
    If I had a shop you could walk around butt naked if you wanted!
    Oh depending where you are it may also be illegal, public nudity or indecent exposure or something...

    Were there children around?

    What kind of a so-called man asks a women to cover up, if you had a top on then you are not in the wrong, it's not against the law to go bra-less.

    I had to look that up and if it's anything like I imagine, yes it's normal how they reacted. It's basically walking into a store topless. I like wearing as little clothing as I can on hot summer days as much as the next person, but at least be decent about it.

    Personally, I would be a bit freaked out if I saw a womans boobs when I was out shopping (I say a bit, I would actually be shocked lol) but that's just me and the society I grew up in I suppose.
