Is it normal for sex to ruin a friendship?

So, I'm friends with this guy, and have been for about a year now. we work together and socialise together. After a drunken night our friendship seemed to blossom into more of a sexual attraction and we ended up having sex.
I was never really attracted to this guy and didnt see him in a sexual light at all. but now i just cant seem to forget about what happened, and subsequently want him more and more.
so all i want is lots and lots of opinions, does everyone think that sex ruins a friendship or does it just make it stronger?

is it normal for you to be able to stay friends afterwards?

    You guys could have sex and pretend like nothing happened. As long as there's no feelings it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure things are clear.

    It really depends on the peoples views. Some work out and some don't.

    The main problems come from people having this idea that you are suppose to be a couple by doing "this" and "that". Totally untrue. Love is what YOU make it. Some people actually work out better treating each like friends but still being lovers.

    Here's the thing, you should marry your best friend. That's the key to a successful marriage. However, if it was just a one time thing and one or the other has different feelings about the future...it can be very hurtful and sad. My best friend of 20 years and I have been in a fight for 3 years now because I wanted to be more than friends and he didn't. I think he's secretly gay, but that's just my opinion.

    I had sex with my best friend, and we became closer than ever. However you need to be careful because at one point we both developed feelings for each other at different stages of our life. She got over hers but I feel like a world of hurt right now because we're still best friends but I still want more. So just be careful.

    Most of the time it does ruin friendships, but not always. I would say it is too late to worry about that now. You have moved it to the next level and there is no turning back. Go with it and see what happens.

    if you want it go for it, I seriously doubt that he'll stop wantin to be friends with you because you want to have sex with him, in case he doesnt want it to happen again, but if he does then there you go!!! you have what yoou wanted, take yuour chances girl. good luck!

    It can, but not always. Id talk it over with him. Sometimes, it can make your friendship even stronger..... Or, it may lead to something more.... Or maybe not. It dont have to ruin your friendship if you dont let it. It is said that a strong friendship can weather any storm.
