Is it normal for people to still remmember?

So TWO years ago I broke up with this guy because we werent good together. Then a week later I asked a different guy out that I liked I then sent him an immediate email saying I actually don't want to go out with you before he responded to me. Anyway just yesterday someone was asking me about it is that normal for people in high school to still think about that?
