Is it normal for people to get desperate and marry at a certain age

Im asking this because ive noticed alot of people seem to be getting married to anyone willing to marry them to people that don't seem to suit them because they have hit a certain age and seem to be afriad of being left behind or alone. People then end up having feelings for the person and think that its good enough then but i think they might be confused as to what the difference is to actually falling inlove and being really happy!!

    This happened to me! I married this total wanker simply because I felt like I was running out of time. I was 28!! On our wedding night I really realised I had totally fucked up! We divorced 18 months later. He was dog ugly and I am not. He had a basic job and I was doing a phd... What was wrong with me? I am still trying to work it out..:(

    It's because their bodies realise they haven't had children yet which sets of a bit of an instinctive alarm. This causes their brain chemistry to have an imbalance which makes them attracted to just about everyone. Usually happens to women hitting the menopause
