Is it normal for people to be avoiding you on your birthday

Today is my birthday and my friends are avoiding me (that's what I assume, they'll spend it any other day, but today). All I have left to spend this day with me are my parents. It makes me question my trust for my friends and it makes me feel like I truly have no one but my parents, which is sad ='( Even my best friend is avoiding me
