Is it normal for people to assume that i am dying to see their kids?

My husband and I both have sisters who just assume that we are dying to see their kids, and that if we don't we are missing out big time. One of them assumes she can get away with anything, simply because she has kids, and we will forgive her everything in order to see the kids (???). I think not. But anyway.

Why do some people assume that they can get away with anything just because they have kids?

    Sounds like the typical parent mentality. It's not normal. You can be truthful on telling them exactly how you and your husband feel but there's always the risk that either they won't change or feeling offended, they end the friendship. If you don't want to tell them make something up when they invite you and ignore their silliness.
