Is it normal for people from the east coast to smell rain

I thought about this after a meme I saw, before heavy rain (mostly for people on the east coast) it smells humid, not to hot, not to cold but warm, almost like a dense fog on a warm day it’s hard to explain

I don't think this is a East coast thing. The smell itself is called "petrichor". The smell varies from location to location because of differences in flora and soil content. It's a lovely smell!

My sister has an old military injury and she can tell if it's going to rain or snow if it hurts. Not sure what that counts as.

I love the smell of rain! I live in Delaware, but I'm actually a Southerner.
