Is it normal for parents to pressure you into drinking?

My mom enjoys occasional drinks and my dad is a major partier. My sisters both love drinking. When i tell my dad i dont drink, he just laughs and makes a face at me that i do not like at all. He makes me feel unaccepted. AnywaysI feel abnormal and left out from friends and family. This makes me want to drink for the first time but I feel uncomfortable with that. I want to have fun with my friends and not be looked down on for not drinking. I have never drank before and im afraid of losing control and what i would possibly do. Please lend me advice!

Ughhhh I HATE people like this. I drink.. a lot haha but I respect people for choosing not to. It is 100% your choice and should not affect anyone. If you don't want to drink, then don't drink. If your friends don't want to hang out because of it then they aren't your friends.

It is normal, I've found many parents put a lot of pressures like this one on their kids. Sad but true.

Say yes, have a sip of the drink and then tell them you don't like it. Refuse to finish it.

Drink if you want to. It doesn't matter what your parents say.

I'm not sure about with parents but with friends you can remind them that if you're not drinking, they have a DD available pretty easily. Once I mentioned that, all pressure from that side vanished nearly immediately.

Say yes when you're offered to drink and fake drinking it. That makes me remember that for on January 1st I was at mum's place and she, who don't even touch alcohol, was asking me to finish a bottle of beer (650ml). I already had three glasses of wine and was feeling funny so I refused.

It would be ironic and spiteful of me to say that this is normal, when in common fact it isn't. However, I am way smarter and more ironic than that, so I voted that this wasn't normal, the expectedly unexpected answer.
