Is it normal for old memories to make you sad?

I can't stop thinking about all the fun I had a couple of years ago, all those memories seem to upset me for some reason. I can't stop thinking back. When I hear a certain piece of music (which I had listened to at the time of the memory), or something it seems to trigger this and makes me think back. Nothing is like it was back then... Is this normal?

Yeah, it's normal. But be careful, living in the past can be dangerous, you'll forget to live and make the most of the time you have, you only fuck up you're future doing that.

If it makes you sad to think of happier times, then don't. Make new ones instead. Make the most of the opportunities you have now, so that you future can be even better.

My head is pretty much stuck in the past with how much I reminisce. It also makes me very sad when I think back to happier times.

Yeah; I've been going through the same thing lately. Found my 8th grade year book a couple of days ago. Can't stop looking in it :'(

Nostalgia is normal. I always look back on happy memories with feelings of happiness, but I can definitely understand why it would make someone sad.
