I had the stomach virus and was very weak. No one checked on me the whole day or offered me anything. I offered them food and drink when they were sick yet no one checked on me. I sort of wish that I died.
No it's not normal. It's just not right is it? We look after everyone else but when it's your turn to be sick you just don't get the same attention.
Life is cruel and often times unfair. It's not right what your family or friends did to you. If you didn't dote on them when they fell ill then, maybe, just maybe, they'd learn to appreciate you more.
In 2008 i was abroad to study and was living with two girls and a guy. Once one of the girl was not well and I did soup for her etc.. Then I got a fever, a terrible fever and could not get out of bed. My mates only peeked their heads in my bedroom and dissapeared. They did absolutely nothing for me. I cried and cried a lot. After little experiences like that here and there I have stopped being nice to every people and guess what? I'm happier

life is cruel. just accept it wholeheartedly. do not expect too much from other people, does not mean u are arrogant or something, but that's life is working on right now...
I agree with tori it sucks when you help them when they're ill and they don't offer the same treatment back when you're ill, anyway hope you're feeling better now.
I know how you feel, it seems like I dote on my parents every whim when they are sick, but I get a kidney stone and they just get my meds and leave me on the couch, while they play on the computer. If they had been at work I would understand but they were home.
