Is it normal for nine year old kid to have suicidal thoughts?

(To be safe I am not telling who) Everyone sees her as a happy girl. The open and loudmouth type. She is a troublemaker too or thats what it seems. She is thinking of dying and thinking that she seriously needs help because she is a mess. She tried opening up to her mother but her mother's reply didnt help "if someone went to a psychologist, tht person is/will never be normal."

    Her mother is pathetic. Therapy is great and helps people which is what the girl seems to need.

    She needs a psychiatrist. There's nothing wrong with going to one. Would her mom refuse to see a doctor if the girl was diabetic because "now she'll never be normal?". Its no different from going to a doctor when you're ill. At such a young age, she needs treatment before it gets even worse.
    I'm gay as well. I had suicidal tendencies starting at the age of twelve. And I think it would have saved me a lot of pain if I had a professional to help me through my confusing sexuality and the bullying I received from being overweight and shy.
    I'm not trying to be harsh. I just think she needs a doctor ASAP.

    I am a homosexual that had suicidal thoughts since I can remember. I have fought them off and pushed on. Find out why they are at this point at such a young age..? My partner in 2001 not able to deal with his familly and friends disapproving of his lifestyle as well as his aversion to black men when he was Mexican.... There is something there, find out what it is. If you are the 9 year old understand, I can not stress this enough, IT DOES GET BETTER. I promise with all my heart.........

    with so many food additives the Industry just wants to create issues. With nearly 50 % on Prozac one has to ask are we all just going nuts? She needs real cuddles less TV more direct attention I know all hard to get in today's world
