Is it normal for my vagina to be like this?

Firstly, I will state that I am a virgin. The other day things got a little hot and heavy between my boyfriend and I. He tried fingering me with just one finger and it hurt like hell. (I was very wet so I don't think it was lack of lubrication). We ended up stopping because it kinda ruined the mood. So today I was looking down there with a mirror and I happened to notice that I do not have a hymen... At all. I looked at so many pictures online of different vaginas with hymens and my vaginal opening is significantly bigger than that. So what I'm trying to get at is, is it normal for his finger to hurt me even though I don't have a hymen? And why did it hurt so much? I know no one can give me a definite answer, I'm just curious if anyone might have some kind of idea.

Well maybe you were born without a hymen or you accidentally broke it before. Some women have broke it accidentally from riding a horse. Also I read somewhere some women are born without a hymen.

    This isn't strange.

Ease of penetration isn't just about whether or not you have a hymen, or how wet you are. It's also based on how relaxed your body is and how long you've been aroused.

A woman's vaginal canal will "enlarge" - that is it will widen out - as she gets more aroused.

and.. that's with adult women who aren't virgins. If you're younger and a virgin it will likely be even tighter.

I know in romance books, once a woman is moist and has no hymen it's "pound pound pound" and she climaxes a dozen times. In reality sometimes it takes a bit more time and effort for her body to be fully prepared.

If you've never had anything up in there before, it's going to hurt, even if you don't have a visible hymen. Try fingering yourself a bit every now and then until it stops hurting. Oh, and one last thing. It's normal for you vagina to be like anything. Any shape and size is beautiful, and they are a bit like snowflakes. No two vagina's are exactly alike.

Yes, at least I think it is. I usually hurts a little the first time or the first times for girls, their bodies aren't used to it (I don't know how else to explain). But you could try a little by yourself or try to guide him.

Maybe he was a little bit too rough for the first time, you need to take it slower to see what feels nice. Not just cram it in.

  • Is it possible that someone took advantage of you when you were younger and that is the reason. I don't want to come off sounding harsh or anything, that could be a plausible explanation.

Your hymen grows away over time as you mature in many cases! please do your research before you end up scaring people.

      • I am sorry I am a bit ignorant to the specifics of the female reproductive system. I did not mean to scare or offend anyone. That was just the first thought that came to mind.
