Is it normal for my toddler cousin to want to marry me?

She is 3 and a half years old and she loves weddings and birthdays as her parents take her to many of those. She can't see a candle or cake as then she will sing Happy Birthday. I spend some time with her now and then ever since she was born and honestly I take good care of her and she likes me a lot. But I find it really awkward when she says she wants to marry me (I'm a girl), she even makes me walk on the imaginary aisle to the sound of the wedding march she is singing. Is this normal at all? I mean, wouldn't it be more common for her to want to marry her dad or brother? I'm not saying being gay is abnormal, just that I didn't expect a toddler to simply brush off the fact that I'm too a girl? I thought about saying that she can't marry me because I'm her cousin, 21 years older and a girl as well. But I don't want her to become homophobic nor to clip her wings. What do I do?

    Kids like to play make believe. It's cute and harmless. My cousin likes to lick the inside of people's mouths. That's less cute and kinda fucked.

    Kids do weird shit sometimes. Just let her enjoy developing her imagination, and be glad she's not licking your face.

              Well, you made it sound like it was something that was happening. "My cousin likes to lick the inside of people's mouths." could be better phrased as "My cousin tries/wants to lick the inside of people's mouths." and "...be glad she's not licking your face." kinda sounded like you were getting your face licked, now doesn't it?

    She is 3. She has little to no concept of what marriage really is... also she has no concept of sexuality, she doesn't know what gay or straight means. She is just saying that she likes you.

    She is three and a half years old. She doesn't have a clue that marriage is the sexual union between two adults. She most probably doesn't have a clue about anything sexual.
    All she wants is to dress up like a pretty princess and for everyone to notice her.

    Supposedly my cousin wanted to marry me around that age, I don't remember, I am about 3 yrs older than him and my other cousin his sister told me about it recently and we just laughed. when i was little I asked my mom if I could marry my friends who were also girls and she said no I can only marry a guy so i asked if I could marry my dad and she said no but find someone else like him, back then I thought she was just being selfish.. Oh, and I used to lick my friends tongues because I thought that was the most brilliant idea, tongues licking other tongues?? We also used to get naked with eachother behind our garages, that I can't explain...

    Just play along with it, when my sister's were younger they insisted for years that they would marry each other! They stopped aged about 9 or 10, so I'd say for a 3 year old this is normal, take it as a compliment.
