Is it normal for my stitches to hurt during sex?

Well anyways, I had my son two months ago (first child) and I had a vaginal delivery which caused me to tear. I've already recover but when my husband and I try to have sex my stitches hurt & I'm scared to have sex. Is it normal for my stiches to hurt? If YES when will I fully recover and have sex again?

It's normal for stitches to hurt when they are being stressed. You might want to wait until after the stitches have healed and fallen out.

Wait....aren't you not supposed to have sex for a while after vaginal delivery? Especially with stitches still in. I don't have kids......or a vagina. But i thought i remember a friend of mine complaining about not getting any for a while after his kid. Maybe i'm wrong.

Whether you give birth vaginally or by C-section, your body will need time to heal. Many health care providers recommend waiting four to six weeks before having sex. This allows time for the cervix to close, postpartum bleeding to stop, and any tears or repaired lacerations to heal.

If sex continues to be painful, consult your health care provider. A low dose estrogen cream applied to the vagina may help, but can also interfere with your milk production if you're breast-feeding. Ask your health care provider to help you weigh the pros and cons.

I had a big tumor cut out of my breast in early January and the pain and itching only died down quite recently, probably around mid April. Because of how deep they had to cut through all that tissue, it's taken a long time for it too heal, for a while I thought it was abnormal and considered going back to the doctor and asking how to get rid of the pain and itching. Surgery takes months to heal, and applying a forceful impact on a healing wound is really not a good idea, I'd say wait till the pain goes away completely.

If you are very concerned, ask your doctor.

Notfloydzie is right. This is far too serious to solve her. You take care of yourself!
