Is it normal for my sister to sleep in my bed?
One time when my sister was 8 years old, she had seen a scary movie with her friends the day before, and she was afraid to sleep alone in her own room. So she loved and trusted me as her big brother (I am 10 years older) and came to my room. I have a twin size bed and I told her to bring her pillow and blanket. But even after she wasn't scared anymore, she would continue to come and sleep in my bed whenever she wanted. I could have put a stop to it by telling our parents, but I didn't want to lose her trust. I would always carry her asleep in my arms back to her room around 5:30 before my parents woke up.
She is now 14 years old, and I am 24 with a college degree and full time job (and I have a job near my parents' house which is where I drive from everyday). I attended my state college and commuted all 4 years. She still sleeps in my bed at least 4 nights every week. No one has ever found out because I have an alarm on my phone set to 5:30 which is when I wake her up and tell her to go to her room before mom and dad suspect anything. When she doesn't wake up, I carry her to her room like I used to when she was younger.
The weird thing (maybe) is that I am a virgin and never had a girlfriend in my life, but having such a close relationship with my sister makes me feel that things are going to be okay for me, that at least I have some form of female companionship. She comes to me with all her troubles in school about classes and boys and I listen and offer my best advice. She is really my best friend and I would give my life to protect her and keep her safe and lead her down the right path.
I have never touched her inappropriately, kissed her, or brought up any inappropriate topics. She is growing into a beautiful young lady and it brings joy to my heart to see her mature from a shy caterpillar to be a wonderful and spectacular butterfly. I want to be there for her every moment to experience the joy of her spreading her wings and flying, soaring high above the skies.
