Is it normal for my sister to just do what my mom says?

My mom is super overprotective. She makes my sister wear thermal underwear, sweaters, winter coat, scarf, gloves, boots etc... before she leaves the house. It's only fall. It's not even cold out. But my sister *just does it*. I ask her and she said she's just used to it and does it. Is this normal?

    What's the value in arguing with her mom about shit like that? Life must be pretty pleasant in that house, unless you kick up shit over stupid things, for no good reason.

      It's normal for a mother to make sure her 16 year old is wearing thermals under her clothes? When it's not even cold out? Really?

        Perhaps your idea of cold differs greatly from her mother's.
        Maybe the forecast was for temperatures to drop; she saw that, but you didn't, because that is the kind of thing a parent pays attention to, but a child doesn't.
