Is it normal for my parents smoke drugs in front of me?

my whole family smoked weed in front of me, i smoked it n now im a police officer. weed is a medicinal drug, ppl blow marijuana way out of proportion. if they teach you about wat it does to you to keep you safe then i dnt see the problem, if you dnt like it dnt try it, its ur own life, you make ur own choices

It isn't normal per se for parents to smoke around their offspring, but it sounds like you're old enough to make up your own mind about drugs. Your parents are just being themselves.

Is it so bad that I don't think this is really that bad? Cannabis isn't anything at all like any of the harder drugs -- not in the slightest. Cut your parents some slack; from what you've described, it's not like they're beating you...

You're both informed, as long as you don't abuse it; recreational use is addictive... cannabis for it's health benefits I approve.

My parents have always smoked in front of me, offered in high school, but ultimately my decision, if you like smoking weed then keep it for special occasions, if you don't want to end up chronic like your parents... try making firecrackers with 2g's, make you want to puke. Your parents and you just need to learn moderation, burnt out and each munchies on the couch? Good for the weekend and social gatherings. If you don't want to smoke don't start, as you can see from your parents you will probably end up feeling the same addictive tendencies as them if you do start up.

I know parents that smoke informed of their kids and vice versa. I'd say it was pretty normal. I just hope you don't let it get to you if you don't like and and have the strength to make your own decisions.

Your parents are hypocrites have you noticed -.- saying their addicted as an excuse for themselves. Do we get addicted from grinding our nails? no its an habbit get it? Don't worry, you're ok. You know right from wrong. I had a group of relatives that were smoking weed if front of little kids. One of them called the police. Great!

No It isn't normal but I wouldn't worry; you're aware of the fact that you don't want to fall in line with the rest if your family and you know what it can do to you. I think as long as you keep your head on straight you'll have nothing to worry about and will be normal and healthy. Way to go :]

I would say this is normal, but not right.
My parents always had parties and did pot and other drugs around me.
I would say, overall, this has screwed me up pretty good (long story).
I chose NOT to be like them. I see how weed is bad, and I see how weed makes people stupid.
Just because someone somewhere on Earth does something does not make it right for you. You can make your own choice when it comes to anything like that.

I don't think it's normal for them to have smoked drugs infront of you. Thank god they have stopped now. They are supposed to be setting an example to their children not encouraging them to experiment with drugs. Ofcourse this doesn't make them bad people, or bad parents it just makes them incredibly ignorant or/and selfish.
Well done if you havn't actually fell into a drug habit because a hell of alot of people in the same situation as you would have.
