Is it normal for my newly adopted child to only want things from me?
My newly adopted daughter refuses to receive clothing, toys, ect if it doesn't come directly from my hands into hers. Is that odd?

As an older adopted person, I was crazy for my dad. I had never had a true father figure, and I was so excited to FINALLY have one to call my own. I wanted to do everything with him, go everywhere with him. Eventually, I realized even if he was out of my sight, he was still my dad and he was in it for the long hall. I am an adult now with children of my own. My dad and I have a fun time reminiscing about back then. Don't worry about it, as soon as she feels completely safe and loved, she will branch out and realize how special she is, because you chose her.
From actual experience of fostering.we had a girl she would only talk to me take meals from me if my husband or daughter tried she would shy away.I eventually sorted itself out but took time .we also found out why it seemed her so called dad used to hit / mistreat her
So you're telling us that you've somehow got to this stage in the adoption process and understand nothing about the child's psychological background?
