Is it normal for my neck to hurt when i use a pillow when i sleep?

I can't use a pillow unless it's super flat otherwise my neck hurts and I wake up with a headache. (migraine) I would just rather not use a pillow at all but I can't sleep unless my arms are underneath it. Stupid right?

i like putting my head at the edge of a pillow , cover my hand up with the blanket and prop my head up with it, puts me to sleep in 5 minutes

I don't even like buying new pillows because they are just too big.

Same thing happens to me, killer neck and head pain. I usually use a small pillow for my head, that most people use to put behind there back.

In some countries pillows are not used at all. Keep using your thin pillow. I personally have 5 pillows on my bed and can only fall asleep with waking up in pain if I use two at once
