Is it normal for my mood to change drastically many times an hour?

To start off I have psychosis and just started to question my frequent mood changes, due to my illness it's difficult to know what's normal and not.

Example

9:00 PM - depressed/suicidal
9:15 PM - Almost manic-like
9:25 PM - dissociated
9:30 PM - Happy
9:35 PM - depressed

Are this rapid mood cycles my illness or normal?

I think you know that's not normal, or you wouldn't have asked it here. No one here can diagnose you -- not that you have an illness that needs diagnosis, for that matter -- but a visit to a doctor can help find out what's going on. You might find there's a physical reason for the quickly changing moods.

You mention that you "have psychosis," but that's a generic term, not a specific psychological condition. That's like saying "I have a runny nose"; it's a symptom, not a disorder. If you haven't gotten an official diagnosis, seek more information from your doctor. If you're self-diagnosing, stop Googling that shit and make an appointment with a doctor.

    • Not to mention the fact that people who have psychosis are basically unaware of it.

Do you have a lot of time/energy to spare? You might want to occupy your time and exercise more. Humans were not meant to be idle and alone on a regular basis.

Get a brain scan. If there's anything abnormal going on in your brain like a imbalance or a growth, it will pick up on it. Doing it this way as opposed to automatically going to a therapist/psychiatrist could prevent you from getting misdiagnosed.

Sounds like Bipolar Disorder, id go see your doctor, he could give meds to help with the fast mood swings.

Depends. When these mood changes happen,is something going on in your life to trigger them?Like when your feeling sad is something bad happening to make you feel that way?If so your normal and if not seek some help.

      Nothing triggers it :/

  • You could have bipolar personality disorder,
manic-depressive personality disorder, low testosterone, or something else. Surely there are other possible causes. Go see a shrink
