So a few years back, i was hit by a car and crushed my leg... Now i wear a leg brace to help suport my leg/ankle... The problem is my mom makes hurtful comments (ie: your leg is so ugly that we should cut it off so if by chance you go on a date, he wont have to stare at it)... Is this normal or is my mom being surper mean.
She is being very mean. I can't understand what sort of mother would do that. Maybe she thinks she's only teasing and doesn't realise she's hurting you :/
No its not normal, you should respond by insulting her weight or her appearance then she will know how it feels.
Oh my gosh that's terrible! Maybe you'll find someone who will love you for you and not care about a deformity that isn't your fault. You'll prove her wrong.
She may be just joking, but if this Hurts you, then you need to let her know how you are Feeling, Good Luck.
It's not a joke if it's hurtful to you, especially if she knows she's being hurtful. If she continues after you've told her it's hurtful, there is something wrong with her, not you.
That said, if you're joking about it that indicates to other people that you're okay with jokes about it. And sometimes people are bad at comedy.
I guess this depends on how well you know your own mother. If you are older, you should know by now if she is just trying to be humourous by being sarcastic. Sarcasm is something not all people understand and a lot of people dont like sarcasm. Sso its sometimes ahrd to know when they are being serious or just being sarcastic, hence the frustration some people have sith sarcasm.
You need to have a frank discussion with your mother about it. Let her know that you are bothered by it a great deal and ask her if it was her intent to actually just be joking around in a sarcastic manner or whether she really was serious about her comments. In any case though, make it clear that it hurts your feelings and you want her to stop. Ask her to say more positive things instead. A mother and child should be getting along with each other in a good way and be antagonistic towards one or the other.
Don't bottle up your emotions as that can lead to an explosive emotional outburst that can be very disastrous to any relationship whether its friends, family or coworkers. Have that one on one conversation in private with her and hopefully she will respect your decision to open up ablut your feelings. Don't bring up up the topic when others are around as that can lead to unexpected responses and defensiveness. Talking about this is a private one on one matter.
You Mom feels guilty that it didn't happen to her or she wished it did because you are getting all the attention. You cunt, no wait she's the cunt! Mean bitch your old lady!
The fact that she can't think outside of herself for one second to realize she's hurting you is really sad.
