Is it normal for my husband to be miserable?
Sometimes when my husband is sitting in his chair, he looks so down that I say, "Cheer up, you crosspatch" and he usually responds negatively. One time when I'd knitted him a beautiful pink balaclava he looked more miserable than usual. When I asked him why he was such a glumglum head, he said, "You've ruined my life, you witch".
Another time when I'd grown some splendid chrysanthemums and was proudly showing them to him, he said that he hoped the neighbours dog would bite me and give me rabies. I was very confused because the neighbours don't even have a dog, just a small parakeet.
I can't help but feel Mr. Grumps is trying to tell me something; I just can't work out what it is. Do you think I should bake him a nice cake?
