Is it normal for my hair to turn gray at age 28?

So i am 28 years old, male and about a year ago i noticed a lot of hair on my head, especially in the ear region and on the sides starts to turn gray. And more and more of it turns gray. Is it normal for your hair to turn gray at such a young age? And what causes such a drastic change in a short time like this. 2 Years ago i didn't have a single gray hair. I have to mention i've been really depressed and unhappy with my life in the last 2 or 3 years. Could this be a reason?

  • I started noticing gray hair in my beard when I was in my mid 20s. Gray hair is not caused by stress. Thats an old wives tale. It's a genetic predisposition.

My mother went grey at that age. She blames me for it.

Talk to some of your older relatives and they will probably be able to tell you about other people in the family that went gray at a young age too .
