Is it normal for my girlfriend to want to hang out with her ex?

So my girlfriend and I have been dating for almost a year now, I know all her stories we shared them to understand each other better. now the problem here is that her ex or the only guy she has ever been with other than sex (she lost her virginity to me) she wants to hang out with that group of friends from before our relationship started. She said she enjoys their company and thinks they are funny. So to end the story this argument showed up since she is making a birthday party she wants to invite him ( oh btw when I mean they i mean that guy and his friends which she hooked up with one and the other two tried) So i told her no it doesnt make sense for her to still want to hang out with them.... I dont know if I should stay strict with the no or let go and let her invite them? ( finally they used to be my friends )

    You shouldn't try to control anyone. How would you feel if you were told you can't have a friend that you already have? I bet you'd be pissed or perhaps determined to do it behind the back of the person who told you no. If she's a slut you're going to find out. Be cool and be ready to have your heart broken by a dumb girl.

    Don't allow her tell her that she mustn't want it too... If she respects you and loves you she can get rid of those people.. Like mine did... cause I changed her and showed that her friends were silly and I needed a serious girl with me . Now she thanks me that I unlocked her mind ^^
