It's interesting that you mention that her father thinks farts are funny. I don't think she's really upset with you for farting, because I grew up in a similar situation (you know the bean eating scene from the Mel Brooks movie "Blazing Saddles"? Yeah, my dad once peed himself from laughing so hard at that scene, and he'd already seen that movie about a million times).

I'm guessing that when you fart and think it's funny, her internal reaction is actually deep familial attachment (because it's obviously what her father did). Her reaction is probably really close to what her mother does when her dad farts (hissy fit around and spray febreeze at your butt and all that stuff, right?) What she's really feeling is a sense of family with you because the activity so closely mirrors her experience in a family.

Yes, she's going to complain. And yes, her farts are morally superior to yours. Get used to it. :-)

If you would have said she hated you farting because it was disgusting then I would have said it was normal. But since she's doing it herself, it isn't. What a hypocrite!

I don't really see what the big deal is. One of my friends (male) has been farting in front of his girlfriend, one of my other friends, since they started dating, and he farts A LOT!

my boyfriend is like that if i fart it is just disgusting because im a girl but if he farts it so hilarious im not really sure what you should do i just fart when i feel like it and ignore his bitchin but if it really bothers u try to explain it to her i dont think its a big deal but it is pretty hypocritical

sounds like she's just responding to your farts in that matter because she doesnt really know what else to say. when my boyfriend farts i just say "that was the best one ive heard so far". because honestly it doesnt gross me out. i think its sweet that hes that comfortable with me.
