Is it normal for my girlfriend to complain that i am too big for her?

My girlfriend and I have been together for about a year and throughout that time she has always experienced pain when we have sex. I apologize for being graphic, but my penis is too long for her vagina. I am always hitting the "back" of her vagina, stretching her out and causing her discomfort. Many times she has told me I'm too big for her. I don't mind that much that I can't get it all in, but I do mind her complaining about pain during sex, which is supposed to be the most fun and peaceful time a couple can have together. It's frustrating. I like driving it home in all sorts of straight and kinky positions but I end up doing the same one or two positions that cause her the least pain almost every time we make love.
Sometimes I think about finding another woman with a more "roomy" vagina, but I don't know how I would even start to go about it. I mean at what point in the date do you say "Oh, by the way, I was just wondering how deep your vaginal cavity is?" Other times I just want to put my girlfriend first and to try to just deal with our incompatibility. Is this situation normal?

    I wonder, no I BET, that there is some kind of "penis doughnut" that you could wear that would fit snugly at the base of the penis to prevent further penetration during sex... Maybe do some research, I'm sure you aren't the first person to have this problem.

    You mentioned trying different position and it already sounds like a lot of compromising on your part, but do you really have to push it all the way in? For a guy the tip is the most sensitive part, isn't it? Have you tried positions where she's completely in control of the movement or maybe even something like bondage? I think the key is for her to become more comfortable with it. It's possible that the last somewhat painful experiences have made her... clam up a bit. So for now be very gentle and hopefully practice makes perfect!

    is she the only girl you've ever been with? if so, then I could see the curiosity in wanting to see what it would be like with a different partner.

      No, I've been with several others without this issue. In fact, they were more excited by the length. But unfortunately I'm more into this girl than them. Sucks.

    do not break up with her solely bcuz of this. it sounds like u don't care about her when u consider that as an option. what you ought to do is extend foreplay. perhaps give her some oral sex. it did't sound like changing positions helped things much.. I would really recommend you start researching new sexual techniques. THIS will definately help. not to say u don't know what ur doing, but any guy can always add to what he already knows. my bf did this, and at 33 he made me squirt for tje very first time, and it was by far THE best lover i've ever had. learning more and more techniques could very well make her so hot that she doesn't feel pain, just pleasure as long as u don't go too deep. and even if ur relatinship doesnt last u will know it for future reference.

      It's the opposite - she keeps talking about breaking up with me because she doesn't want pain during sex. There is foreplay, but I think she's so worried about pain that there's a mental block. Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt about knowing what I'm doing. :)

        Honest to god, I'm a female experiencing this same thing! The main thing I want from my man is to show me that he loves me, and that it's not all about sex. I have a mental block, and that's what I need ot get past it. Also, make a HUGE effort not to hurt her. If you hurt her, it's back to square 1. If you continute to show her that sex isn't as important as she is to you, and you foreplay, and tease, but don't have sex, and when you do have sex, you don't hurt her, this block will eventually reside. I guarantee you, if you push sex on her and keep making it sound like you want to have sex even though it hurts her, this won't work out.
