Is it normal for my girlfriend and i to have long pauses when talking?

So me and this girl have known each other for about a week now and I just had a quick question. is it normal for us to pause and not talk for a few seconds? I asked to see her on the weekend and she said yes, so until then we have been spending lunch together and yesterday we went on a walk.(I'm in high school Just in case you are a little slow) and we talked about lots of stuff but between each topic we would have a pause for up to 20 seconds. I just feel like we don't have consistent conversations. And the kicker is on facebook we always talk no problem. We tell each other how much we love the other and stuff, so is this normal?

    Ok what's not normal is knowing someone for 1 week and claiming you "love them". In case YOUR a little slow, that's not love kid.

    Mm, maybe y'all are still just not totally comfortable with each other in person yet. And this can go either way. Because y'all are in a new relationship, there could still be some small tension and awkwardness simply because of that. And, for couples that have been together for a while, they might run out of things to talk about, and that's how my boyfriend and I are in person sometimes. I think it's normal though.

    What is "use" supposed to imply???? It's not a word that means plural of "you" bogan - go read your centerlink manual on how to speak English with non Bogans.

    When you are with someone, you don't have to talk all the time. Sometimes its nice to just be with someone not saying anything and just enjoy the moment.

    Lol..... It's only been a week use will get into the groove of things, when use get to know eachother and spend more time with eachother convo will flow easily! You will be comfortable around eachother n probly wished she didn't talk so much :)

    @klassyheartbreak I'm sorry you feel that way but up in Vancouver that's what we do. Most of my friends claim there in love and when I see how happy they are with their girlfriends I don't tell them it's not love, I try to be supportive. And it's not like were having sex or I want to marry her, All I was trying to say is I love spending time with her. Sorry for the confusion.
