Is it normal for my friends to not want me to meet their other friends

I have 2 friends who are like this but one has a really reasonable explanation so I'm only talkin about the other one.
So my friend doesn't want me to hang out with her and her other friends from outside of school! She's always bragging right indent of me about how she has these "stories" that she "can't" tell me but it's obvious she just wants me to ask her until she tells me but I don't. But we were gonna go to a dance and she told my other friends brother that she didn't actually want to be with me
(at the dance she'll be with her other friends who I don't know) IIN?! Does anyone have a reasonable explanation(s)? Please tell me everything you can think of! Thanks!

    Yes, I'd think it's normal. Mostly my friends do it because they don't want to lose my friendship to their friends and then they;y'd be alone
