Is it normal for my friend to get so upset ?

Ok, So Im a girl and have a male friend we've known each other for about 4 months and we call each other everyday But recently he started to tell his feelings for me and afterwards started to say you can't talk to any other guys etc, And the other day he got mad for a reason im still not sure of so I didn't call him that day or see him. The next day comes around and he tells me to call him because we need to talk so i called him and was like so what's up and he was like " nun bruh " and i know when he's mad cause he says mane and bruh alot so i said are you mad or something and hes like no are u mad so i just became silent and he was like so ur just going to listen to me breathe and i was like no but u wanted me to call u to tlk about something obviously and i was like ur mad i can tell and he said im not so i say ok then..then he says talk about something and i say well i dont exactly know what to talk about while u seem irritated and i said u tlk about something then he says well i dont got anything good to say...so i was like how was ur day and he said bad then i said how was yesterday and he said bad so i say why and he says i dont f*cking know so i just became silent again and he says u know maybe i wouldnt be so mad if u would of called me yesterday but u didnt so u apparently didnt wanna talk to me u was probably on the phone with some other guy which i wasnt and then he strted saying i wanna make u mad then i said dont then he starts saying I hate u..i nvr cared about u.....i dont give a f*ck about u...ur so damn stupid i hate ur stupid *** just hate u ...so i hung up on him before i cussed him out ..hes never shown anger like this before hes usually calm as ever...he didnt tell me to call him and i thought he was mad for another reason so i did not call him to avoid problems, And no i have not lead him on and we are not friends with benefits But is it normal for him to act this way over not calling ?
