Is it normal for my friend to always respond with "yo momma" jokes?

Recently, I've been avoiding talking to my friend, because every time I try to start a conversation, he replies with "Your mom..." Like, if I ask what book he's reading, he says "I'm reading your mom." He doesn't do it to be mean (we are good friends, and I know he's joking), but it gets annoying really fast, because that is literally all he will say. I asked him to stop and all he said was "Your mom told me to stop."

Constantly reply with a similar joke to see how he likes getting annoyed.

unless he is in middle school or elementary school he is acting immature. Friends like that need to be slapped.

Lol "your mom told me to stop" LOOL! I'm sorry but that's too funny. I think your buddy is hilarious. Just ignore it then if you don't like it, some people have sayings they use a lot and then it stops.

I used to call my fiancé Chinese for no reason when he's completely white. I couldn't even help myself. I would just wake up and say "good morning Chinese man!" and when we had Chinese food for dinner, I'd say "Great meal tonight from your people!" or "That guy (a random Chinese man at a shop) must speak the same language. Why not ask him where the cereal section is??" and so on. He never got annoyed with me but I got annoyed with myself so I had to stop.

I had a friend that was the same way and he still is. You have to either learn to live with it or stop be friends with him.
