Is it normal for my female roommate to sleep outside my door?

I'm a straight guy living with a female roommate. I'm an introvert so I spend most of my time alone in my room, and don't enjoy social situations. I've lived with her for several years and had very little contact with her, but in recent months she's been acting very nice towards me. Asking how I am doing, etc.

One night I found her sleeping outside my door, face down on the carpet. Is this "normal"? She was clearly awake at one point when I walked around her, but didn't seem to be bothered by it. Am I just clueless and this "means" something?

O_o I'm trying to wrap my head around her sleeping face down on the floor. Maybe, she likes you?

Or, is trying to see if she can see underneath the door to catch a glimpse of what you're doing in there. You opened the door as she was doing this, caught, she pretended to be asleep. That's the only logical thing I can think of.

I don't see what she could see under my door other than my refrigerator which blocks nearly everything. It does make a humming and clicking sound so maybe she found it soothing to sleep to? Still doesn't seem like reason enough to do that, though.

She probably thinks its weird that you like to spend so much time in your room alone and was curious to know what you get up to. People tend to get weird and sometimes, dirty, thoughts in their head towards people who like to have a lot of alone time. I used to spend A LOT of alone time in bathroom and my family made some "insinuations"… None of which were true at the time. I used to spend a lot of time in my room, and it wasn't uncommon for family members to try to barge in and see what I was up to or give me psychological diagnoses/bad pep-talks.

If you are a private person and not particularly prone to social discourse with some one you share a living arrangement with "for years", it only stands to reason that sooner or later, the OP roommate is going to wonder "Just what the fuck is his story?"

I can see how you might think that. However without going into all the details, my living space is my own and basically like my own apartment. I don't share living space with anyone else, other than the front door.

Also I have learned that the only reason for someone to want to know my "story" is to determine whether I'm a "threat". However, once it's determined I'm NOT, they steal and lie to me. Lol. So I've learned it's better for roommates to know less and be apprehensive, than to be honest and be *taken advantage of*.

Yeah. I've had female neighbors do shit like that to me when they're drunk. She was prolly trashed and her subconscious led her there, where she passed the fuck out lol. One morning I woke up at like 4am to my neighbor trying to force her key into the lock in my apartment door and pounding on it. I opened the door and she just stared at me and smiled and kind of fell foreward as she stumbled inside. Keep in mind, I'd never said two words to this girl. I even thought her and her roommates were annoying as HELL. I escorted her down the four flights of stairs then up the adjacent four flights (had to carry her up) and left her on the couch. Bitches be crazy man

I think you're right (about the subconscious thing). Maybe she was sick and took too much cold/flu medicine and the drowsiness kicked in. I rarely see alcohol and have never heard or seen her drunk before.

I think she was drunk and fell asleep there.

That seems unlikely since there's a big couch to sleep on about 20 ft. away.

People can do odd and illogical things when drunk.

For example when I was young. I think sixteen. My friends dropped me off at my house after a heavy night of drinking. This I remember. When I woke up I was siting on the front porch of a girl I liked. Her father was standing there holding a cup of coffee. He then said "Want some breakfest."

I live in a rural area, so no street lights. In my stupor I had walked away from my house, and walked a mile and a half. In the dark. Just to fall asleep on that porch.

I think so. I see her talking with someone like a social worker every 6 months or so, and walked into a conversation once about how she is coping and trying to find work. As if she has some psychological disability. And she takes medication for it I think. Or that could be just a scam to get free drugs and unemployment. I live in a low income neighborhood full of people on welfare, so I wouldn't be surprised..

well that's probably why she did that, then. Poor girl, that's gotta suck to suffer from such a thing.

I doubt it. She had a blanket perfectly positioned over herself. She did have a cup of something on the kitchen counter like she was in the middle of making something to drink. Just seems odd.
